7 Signs You’re Dating a Keeper

“Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.”

– Oscar Wilde

THEY RESPECT YOU

There are various ways for someone to show they respect you. For example, they listen attentivley to your needs, desires and concerns. They speak directly to you rather than sharing their complaints with others. They don’t show contempt towards you, including rolling their eyes.

THEY DON’T TRY TO CONTROL YOU

Sometimes the first step of a controlling partner is that they subtly try to isolate you from your friends and family. Complaining about how much time you spend with your brother/sister. Or that they don’t like your best friend and you shouldn’t hang out with her anymore.

THEY MOTIVATE YOU

They motivate you to want to be a better person. Not like an army drill sergant burning the ears off you to work harder and be better. Just no matter how big or small your dreams and goals are, they’re fully supportive of them.

YOU’RE COMPLETELY COMFORTABLE

You feel completely comfortable to do or say anything to them and feel comfortable with them in any situation. If you’re a nervous wreck over the thoughts of mentioning something slightly controversial ,or even to be alone with them then maybe they’re not the one for you.

ALWAYS HAVE A GREAT TIME TOGETHER

Whether it’s going on an adventourous holiday or even just going to see a shitty film in the cinema, you always have a good laugh and great time together.

LOVE THE LULLS

You’re both able to enjoy each others company when you’re doing absolutely nothing. If you feel like you constantly need to be entertaining each other you’ll eventually run out of things to do and get fed up with each other when there’s nothing to do.

FAMILY & FRIENDS LIKE THEM

Not only is it a bonus if your friends and family like them, but it’s also good to see if they’re good for you from an outside perspective. Sometimes when it’s just you and them spending so much time together it’s hard to tell if you’re not being your full self or if you’ve change (not for the better).
