Date Spot of the Week: People’s Park Farmers Market – Dún Laoghaire

“There is no love sincerer than the love of food.”
— George Bernard Shaw

Do you constantly bicker with your partner over what to have and where to go for food ? Always ending up with one of you saying “I don’t mind, it’s up to you”. Even though deep down you couldn’t be arsed arguing anymore because you’re about to pass out from the hunger. We’ve all been there. The best solution for you is to bring them to The People’s Park. Every Sunday (11:00am – 4:00pm) the market comes alive as vendors bring their colourful collection of food and crafts to this most beautiful park, located on the coast.

This market boasts a very cultural dimension, with Japanese, Croatian, Lebanese, Italian, French, Chinese, Indian, Greek, Pakistani, Polish, Palestinian, and Czech produce available, as well as an impressive selection of Irish crafts, books, paintings, and foods.

It’s easily accessible by car and less than a five minute walk from the DART. The People’s park also has a children’s playground and a coffee shop.

Although beware.. You’ll have a new problem on your hands.. Trying to decide which of the mouth-watering meals to choose from. So eat a light breakfast and wear trousers with an elastic waistband, you’ll both find it impossible not to stuff your faces.
