Miracle on 34th Street is a 1994 American Christmas fantasy film written and produced by John Hughes, and directed by Les Mayfield (the two would reunite for 1997’s Flubber). It stars Richard Attenborough, Mara Wilson, Elizabeth Perkins, and Dylan McDermott, and is the fourth remake (and the second theatrical version) of the original 1947 film. Like the original, this film was released by 20th Century Fox. The New York City based Macy’s department store declined any involvement with this remake, so the fictitious “Cole’s” became its replacement. Gimbels had gone out of business in 1987; hence it was replaced by the fictional “Shopper’s Express”.

About this Event
This is no ordinary Christmas festival, at Guinness Winterfest guests can also expect a music and entertainment line-up full to the brim with Christmas feels, programmed by music promoter and Dublin publican, John Mahon. They’ll find live DJs and bands lighting up the stage, bump into up and coming buskers or belt out their own tunes in the karaoke caravan. Christmas tunes will be flowing from everyone’s festive favourites to the much-loved score from the much-loved Guinness Christmas ad.
Guests can look forward to browsing through the festival stalls in search for unique stocking fillers or a festive treat for themselves! There’ll be fun and different gifts that go beyond the usual Christmas wish list on sale from trend-setting Irish creatives. Expect unexpected crafts and jewellery, prints and quirky cards, apparel and homewares, confectionery and decorations. From self-gifting to finding something for a best friend, there will be something for everyone.
Curated by food connoisseur, Ali Dunworth, Guinness Winterfest will play host to foodies who will take up residency at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery across the festival weekends. They will create festive favourites from sweet treats such as churros with delicious chocolate dip to savoury to bubbling cheese toasties – all perfectly paired with delicious pints of Guinness.
